Hi Sean we have used the Botanica creams for a few cases with some verypromising results: a tamandua with a chronic hip wound, an elepant (called Mary)with pressure sures with a chronic hip wound, an elephant with a acute ear wound (Tembo), and now, will start an elephant with a chronic active back wound. We have nearly used all the cream that we go at the conference in Hamburg. Lately, I've been sort of hoarding the supply but now fokes have become a bit enchanted with the products...so time for me to go global and figure out the practicalities of long-term use... Hi Sean, I received an evaluation from Rich at Chester Zoo of the wash and cream you handled out during the Elephant management school in Hamburg. He mentioned that the cream was probably too good for injured tail treatments because it continued to work even long after application, it stayed in the skin and kept the area soft long after the wash had been used on the tail. I personally don't see that as a problem more a condition of how its applied. The wash he liked better than the previous wash they had been using, it is a medical preparation call Hibi-scrub. The cream might be better directed towards normal tail and feet conditioning, feet & tails without medical problems. The wash I believe we could direct towards foot soaking and tail soaking of all conditions and for a general use of skin conditions that would need a wash before any other application of a medication. Hi Sean, It has been nearly seven weeks since I e mailed you thanking you for the package you kindly sent to me. The filly had a nasty cut on her leg about 6'' above her knee, it measured about 2 1/2" long and about an 1'' deep that was very slow healing, actually it was helish slow. Within a week of statring on Botanica I could see the wound go smaller. In 6 weeks she was completely healed and when the hair has grown a little no one will know that there was nothing ever there. Thank you for a great product, something I will keep in my 1st aid box for the horses and for myself, just a shame that I didn't know about it months before. Many thanks once again.
